Series #21: Holland Tulips: one
I've always loved tulips, so when I had the opportunity to go to the Holland Tulip Festival in Holland, Michigan with my daughter, Brittany, I jumped at the chance.. We all have a stereotypical image in our mind of tulips but I love atypical images. These particular flowers had the light flowing through them to form amazing shapes. I base all my paintings on photos that I capture. I seek to paint what I see, freehand. I thought these were gorgeous.

Her two favorite artists are Monet and Van Gogh. They most inspired Janet while travelling in Europe and visiting museums.
After visiting countless art galleries and museums in Europe from 2 1/2 years of travel around the world, just before turning 21 years of age, Janet discovered her passion for art and an unknown innate ability, which inspired her artistic pursuit.
Acrylic paintings are based on authentic scenes, drawn freehand or untraced. She showcases nature in its truest form. Digital hand paintings were produced from 2015-2016. Her current Fine Art Collection, was created from January of 2017 to the present.

Gallery Wrap, Acrylics on Canvas 12" x 24" x 1.5" I have now been to 5 exhibits of orchid shows at the Chicago Botanic Garden. I used to have an image of what orchids look like. Little did I know that there are over 25,000 documented species and more being discovered every year. It is widely accepted that orchids hold the title for the largest number of species amongst the flower families. I select my favorites to focus on and paint. I have enough subject matter to last a lifetime. I hope you enjoy this journey with me. They brighten up any room! |
